Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Shift Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights at Heart Hospital
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Weekend Requirement: As needed, rotating
- Float Requirement: Yes
- On Call Requirement: None
- Block Scheduling: Case by case
- Unit Size: 55 beds
- Cardiovascular experience required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years preferred (will consider 1+ years)
- Prior travel experience: Not required (1st time travelers accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred
- PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Valid RN license with primary source verification (NURSYS verification required)
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification (transcript or diploma accepted if verification pending)
- Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
Additional Information
- Documentation system used: EPIC
- Scrub color: Any (no logo)
- Behavioral Health RNs require APNA eLearning Center certification for restraint/seclusion assessment prior to start
- Unit requires cardiovascular experience
