Job Description

• Role: Operating Room Registered Nurse
• Must be able to circulate in orthopedics, spine, robotics, and general surgery
• Heavy orthopedic experience required
• Shift: Three 12-hour mid shifts, block scheduling available
• Call required and rotating weekends
• Charting system: Epic
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (highest stated requirement)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications Required (as applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
• NIH Stroke Certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)

Licensure & Verification

• State License 1 Verification (primary source online verification required)
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Education Verification (must verify highest level of education)

Background Checks & Documentation

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
• HHS/OIG check upon hire
• Fingerprinting (time sensitive, for New Mexico placements only)
• Transcript/Diploma may be accepted as placeholder if education verification is delayed
• Complete employment application/resume required
• 7-year work history verification required (NJ state mandates minimum 1 year prior verified with max 30-day gaps)
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must renew annually
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if positive)
• TB questionnaire within 90 days of start (annual if positive)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if negative/equivocal
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted; boosters if negative/equivocal
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required; boosters if negative/equivocal
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency-approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption required (declinations not accepted)

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with strong orthopedic OR experience who is comfortable working mid shifts with rotating weekends and call responsibilities. Epic charting experience is required. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
