Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - Travel/Contract

Location: Gloucester, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (highest required experience).
• Must have excellent clinical skills and strong communication abilities.
• Responsible for championing patient experience; professional and approachable demeanor required.
• Night shift responsibilities include working independently with nursing supervisor support available.
• Typical patient load includes:

  • 1 to 3 ventilators
  • 1 to 2 Bipaps or Hiflo (11 bed ICU)
  • 5 to 10 floor treatments (first round only)
• Coverage areas include ER, ICU, Med/Surg, PACU, Rapid Responses, and Code Blue throughout the system.
• Outpatient EKG duties also included.
• Facility primarily cares for adults in a 67-bed hospital.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Preferred
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Preferred

Work Environment

• Night shift workers must be very competent and comfortable working independently.
• Nursing supervisor available as a resource; manager support accessible if needed.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required.
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check within a year of start, updated annually.
• Drug screen within the last 12 months.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1-3/31) with strict deadlines for documentation or approved exemptions.
• COVID vaccination series preferred.
• Professional references (2) required.
• Employment application/resume required.
• Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments (e.g., confidentiality agreement, dress code, safety policies) must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
• Photo for badge must meet specific requirements (recent, professional, clear, neutral background).
