Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 12-hour shifts; start times vary (7am, 9am, 11am)
• Night Shift: May need to cover one night shift during contract
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, 3 weekends per schedule
• On-Call: One weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend (Sat or Sun) from 7am to 7am with 20-minute response time
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals: Not accepted
• Pending State License: Not accepted
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Scheduling & Time Off

• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and is subject to facility approval.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years. Annual updates required.
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests). Negative results only.
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination accepted
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, annual updates required
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer, declination accepted
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer, declination accepted
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or declination accepted
  • COVID vaccine or declination required
• Fit Mask Testing: Required for travel candidates; must be updated annually or completed onsite. Acceptable mask types specified by region.
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024.

References & Employment History

• Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application must include at least the last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps.

Training & Competency

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:

  • Core regulatory modules (annual)
  • Specialty-specific modules for Surgical Techs in California
• Epic training modules required and must be completed after Providence access is granted.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to float to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance if required.
• Facility allows calling off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
• No block scheduling available.

This position is ideal for Surgical Techs with at least 1 year of experience in outpatient and orthopedic/neuro/vascular cases, who are flexible with scheduling including weekends, on-call shifts, and occasional night shifts. First-time travelers are welcome.
