Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ED RN – Nights)
Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:30 - 08:00)
Schedule: Every other weekend required, holidays as scheduled
Patient Age Group: All ages
Patient Diagnoses: Chest Pain, Stroke, Sepsis, Cardiac Arrest, Trauma, Respiratory Illness, Respiratory Arrest
Average Daily Census: 140 patients
Beds: 46
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients)
Floating: Required within specialty as needed
On-call: Scheduled on-call not required
Experience & Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
- Required Years of Experience: 5 years preferred; minimum 3 years required
- Travel Experience: Travel experience required but will consider first-time travelers with 5+ years experience
- EPIC Charting System: Experience required
- Licenses & Certifications Required:
- Maryland RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Special Equipment Used
- Belmont pump (trauma)
- Giraffe warmer (neonates)
- Rapid infuser
- Lucas device (cardiac arrests)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 or Attestation
- Government Issued Photo ID
- E-Verify or Attestation
- Background Check (7-year criminal search within 30 days of start, updated annually)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education Verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Physical Exam (within 1 year, including Latex Screen)
- Fit Mask Test (within 1 year)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (as applicable)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers or vaccines as required)
- Drug Testing: Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
- Flu Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption (seasonal requirement)
- COVID Vaccination: Not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Employment application/resume within 30 days of start
- Verification of previous 5 years of work history
