Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Location: Camden, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Unit: Mix of Medical-Surgical (MS) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patients
• Float Requirement: Must float within 5 hospitals in the system within skillset; may float to ICU for downgraded PCU patients
• Schedule: Every Other Week (EOW) / Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Electronic Health Record: EPIC experience preferred
• Block scheduling is NOT allowed
• Return to Office (RTO) required at time of submission; no RTO after submission accepted

Experience & Certifications Required

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with Neuro experience
• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • ASLS (Advanced Stroke Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for MS, Tele, MS/Tele, ICU, ED, PCU)
• Must pass Dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing contract (only 2 attempts allowed; must be taken on PC, not iOS devices)
• First-time travelers accepted but not preferred

Prior Travel Experience

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Additional Requirements

• Must be willing to float within multiple hospitals in the system
• Dysrhythmia competency test is mandatory and failure to pass results in contract cancellation and denial of rehire
• Professional References: 2 required within last 2 years
• Background Checks: 7-year criminal check, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen without THC panel within 6 months of start, updated annually
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within last 12 months
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Required immunizations or positive titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required by October 31
  • Visual acuity exam (20/40 or better)
  • Latex questionnaire
• Licensure: State license verification and NURSYS verification required
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Notes

• Local rate adjustment for candidates living within 50 miles of the hospital
• Candidates cannot start if certifications expire within 30 days of contract start date
• Badge photo required by specified deadline
• Must comply with all facility-specific document submissions and deadlines

This position is ideal for experienced Neuro RNs comfortable with floating across multiple units and hospitals, who meet the certification and testing requirements, and are ready for a 13-week travel assignment in New Jersey.
