Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have Pediatric experience with patients 6 years old and up
• Required certifications upon hire: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Additional certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Skills and responsibilities include:

  • Oxygen protocol management
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Peripheral line care/management
  • Isolation precautions and PPE use
  • Computerized documentation
  • Nurse to patient ratios of 1:6-8
  • Rapid response team activation
• Minimum of 2 years recent nursing experience required

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse with Pediatric experience
• Years of experience required: 6 years (based on pediatric experience requirement)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Licenses

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
• State Nursing License (Primary Source Verification required)
• NURSYS Verification (for RNs)

Background & Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification required (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
• References: 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical)
• Employment application required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical)
• Fit mask test (annual) with accepted mask types; fit test waiver available for medical/religious reasons
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
  • Hepatitis B (surface antibody titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start

Competencies & Other Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color blind testing prior to start
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check required
