Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

  • On-call Requirement: Yes, 1 shift per week and approximately every 4th weekend
  • Weekend Requirement: Approximately every 4th Saturday (part of regular 40 hours/week)
  • Floating: May float within scope to Cath Lab
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: No, candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
  • Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks; traveler can be called off for 1, 10-hour shift per 2 weeks
  • Time Off: Approved individually; only 1 time off request per 13-week assignment

Experience & Requirements

  • Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years from supervisors in comparable specialty/setting
  • Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format; gaps or overlaps must be explained

Certifications & Competencies

  • Must hold current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation accepted)
  • ARRT (R) or RCES certification required
  • Other certifications may be required as per User Defined (UD) or Clinical Tracks
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Competency Exams as applicable by specialty
  • Color Blind Testing if specifically requested
  • Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on UD

Background & Screening

  • Background Check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
  • Education Verification required for all candidates
  • State-specific searches required for Washington and Oregon placements as applicable
  • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask testing required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, updated annually
  • Immunizations/Vaccinations required:
    • TDAP (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
    • COVID vaccine or declination

Scheduling & Floating

  • Floating within scope to Cath Lab may be required
  • On-call shifts and weekend shifts required as noted
  • Time off requests limited to one per assignment

Additional Compliance & Training

  • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules as assigned (Core, Specialty, Regional, and Regulatory) prior to start
  • Epic training modules required for charting system access
  • Providence-specific float policy acknowledgment required
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024, annually renewed
