Cath Lab Tech (RCIS) - Wisconsin, Marshfield

Position Details

• Specialty: Cath Lab Tech (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist - RCIS)
• Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift:

  • 4 ten-hour days per week (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) plus call, rotating day off
  • Option to consider 5 eight-hour days (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Call Requirements:

  • Weeknight and weekend call rotation, approximately once every 3 weekdays
  • Weekend call rotation once every 3 weekends (Friday through Monday)
  • Holiday call may be required
  • Call response time: 30 minutes

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) experience (specific experience depends on assignment)
• Prior travel experience: Not specified (no explicit requirement)

Job Duties

• Prepare procedure suites and ensure radiation safety setup
• Calibrate and troubleshoot fluoroscopy and hemodynamics monitoring equipment
• Pull supplies, set up sterile tables
• Scrub in and assist physicians with procedures including device exchange, guidewire manipulation, catheter placement, balloon and stent deployment
• Manage radiation dose and imaging angles
• Clean, restock, and turnover procedure rooms
• Perform sheath removals

Work Environment

• 7 procedure rooms total (4 Cath Lab/EP & 3 IR/Vascular)
• Average 20+ cases per day across all rooms
• Common procedures: LHC, RHC, PCI, Structural, Watchman, Impella, IABP, IFR, FFR, IVUS, STEMI, Roto, Laser
• EMR systems used: Merge, Cerner
• STEMI team includes 1 RN and 3 techs
• Staffing:

  • Cath Lab: 1 RN, 3 Techs
  • EP: 3-4 person team
  • IR: 1 RN, 2 Techs, anesthesia support for neuro cases
  • STEMI call team: 4 persons (1 RN, 3 Techs)
• Floating: Hybrid for vascular cases
• Scrubs provided; own scrub caps allowed
• Orientation: 2-3 full days of training/shadowing, buddy call first week off call, second week on call with buddy, then solo

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Previous employment with the facility requires a minimum 6-month gap before reapplying
