Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide C-arm and O-arm coverage in the Operating Room (OR) environment.
  • Perform X-ray procedures for surgical interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical and medical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Maintain equipment functionality and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay updated with advancements in the field.

Work Schedule:

  • 4x10 hour shifts, 1st shift.
  • Call responsibilities included.

X-ray Procedure Experience:

  • Surgery/C-Arm

Qualifications

  • Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) with ARRT registration.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a Level I Trauma or teaching hospital.
  • Proficiency in operating C-arm and O-arm systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.


Required Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for certain units (check unit-specific requirements).
  • Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, EFM may be required depending on unit (not typically for this role).
  • State License verification within 30 days of start.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual).
  • Unit-specific competency exams may be required.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881).
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring.
  • Education accreditation confirmation for relevant programs.
  • Pending background check attestation allowed if fingerprint results are pending.
  • Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed).
  • References: 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; TB questionnaire required.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer.
  • Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable).
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption possible with documentation.
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31). Mask required if declining.
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates using a compact license from states other than Ohio must complete a Residency Declaration Form.
  • Dress code and hand hygiene policies must be reviewed and signed.
  • Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
