Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Mammo Tech)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (08:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Required Certifications:
    • ARRT (R)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Travel Requirements: Must be willing to travel on a mobile coach to off-site locations within a 50-mile radius

  • Diagnostic Mammograms
  • Fine Needle Aspiration
  • Needle Localizations
  • Screening Mammograms
  • Stereotactic Biopsy
  • Screening and Diagnostic Mammograms

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • I9 verification
  • Driver’s License or State ID
  • E-Verify
  • 7-year Background Check (including SS Trace, County searches, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Education Verification)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
  • Education Verification (highest level)
  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
  • Negative 2-Step TB test or equivalent within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire (if applicable)
  • Immunizations/Vaccine Requirements:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination)
    • Varicella (or documented history)
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccine or approved exemption (during flu season)
    • COVID-19 Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
  • Competency Exams (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Annual Core Testing (for subcontractors)

Other Requirements

  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • Complete employment application/resume
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
  • 7-year work history verification

This position offers a travel contract opportunity for a Mammography Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, performing a variety of mammography procedures, with a standard weekday shift and some travel within a 50-mile radius. Prior travel experience is not required. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, drug testing, and certifications is mandatory.
