Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Decatur, Illinois
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet Facility
Unit: 18 bed PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Licensure: Must have an active Illinois nursing license or be in the application process with ETA to apply
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• On-Call: Required 3-4 times per 6-week schedule
• Weekend Requirement: None
• Schedule Flexibility: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
• Local Candidates: Accepted, no radius restrictions
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid/current US Driver’s License or State ID
• Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Illinois-specific state searches (Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry) within 30 days of start
• Fingerprinting via Illinois Health Care Worker Registry (for clinical candidates without IL license) completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start
• Education verification (degree/transcript/diploma)
• Primary source verification of certifications and state license
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates
• Badge photo (color, mid-shoulders up, plain background) due within one week of signing
• Physical exam within one year of start, including labs within 7 days of contract signing
• Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by 11/30
• Two professional references required

Additional Notes

• Guaranteed hours may be adjusted with some call-offs allowed without pay
• Scrubs and parking permit provided/required as noted
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation deadlines
