Unit & Patient Information
- Unit Type: NICU
- Number of Beds: 25 plus overflow beds on pediatric floor
- Patient Ratios: Typically 3 feeders, 2 CPAP, 1 nitric, 1 cooling (varies by acuity)
- Typical Patient Care:
- Caring for Level 3 NICU infants including:
- High Frequency vents, conventional vents, CPAP, NIMV, HFNC, Nitric oxide therapy
- Whole body cooling
- OG/NG/PO feedings
- UAC, UVC, PICC, PIV lines
- Attending high risk deliveries and all cesarean section deliveries
- Float Requirements: Possible float to mother-baby or pediatrics, but unlikely due to high census
