Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech - Phoenix, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: IR Tech (Interventional Radiology Technician)
- Location: Phoenix, Arizona
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum contract length)
- Shift: Day shifts, 8 hours, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- Weekends: Possible some Saturdays
- Call Requirement: None
- Floating: None outside of Radiology
- Unit: Interventional Radiology
- Rooms: 2 general IR suites, 1 Spine IR room, 2 neuro endovascular suites
- Cases per Day: 5-10
Experience & Certifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of core IR tech experience
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Teaching Experience: Required (facility is a teaching hospital)
- Prior Travel Experience: Required for ED and Neuro ICU roles (not explicitly required for IR Tech role)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS Certification
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R)
- Arizona license MRTBE-CRT
- VI certificate is a plus but not required
- EMR Experience: Cerner required
- Additional Requirements:
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance (max 2 attempts) for certain units including Cardiac Cath Lab and ICU
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors allowed
- Must have own vehicle for travel teams
- Candidates cannot work two contracts simultaneously within this system
- Must be off CommonSpirit as permanent staff for 12 months to be eligible for travel assignment
Job Responsibilities & Environment
- Common Procedures: GI/GJ tubes, Ports, Angiograms, Lumbar punctures, Myelograms, Nephrostomy tubes, Stents, IVC filters, Blood patches
- Neuro Experience: Preferred but not required; includes endovascular procedures, embolizations, stents, stroke treatment
- Sedation Cases: Require 2 RNs and RT scrubbing with MD
- Orientation: Floor-specific orientation includes Philips Allera and Medrad injector systems
- Facility: Level 1 Trauma center, 607 beds, teaching hospital with lung, liver, kidney transplant specialties and association with a top neuro institute
Additional Notes
- Weekly orientations on Mondays (except holidays)
- Onboarding paperwork must be completed by Wednesday 1 PM CST before start date; incomplete files will delay start
- Facility will not consider contracts shorter than 13 weeks
- Parking assigned with shuttle service; night shift parking in garage
- Candidates may work with nursing students as part of the teaching environment
