Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Kingwood, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), weekdays, every other weekend, float
Unit Profile: Average 0.2 patients per day
Start Date: ASAP
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - ICU
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Certifications Required:
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Certifications Preferred:
- CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse)
Skills Required
- Conscious sedation
- Telemetry
- Ventilator management
Work Environment & Tools
- EMR System: CPSI
- Scrubs: Not provided; colors allowed are wine and/or burgundy
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Candidates must submit the following prior to start:
- Candidate profile (work history)
- Specialty-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
- Minimum 2 manager/charge nurse references from the past 2 years
- RN license verification (recently pulled)
- COVID vaccine status
- All required certifications on file (no pending certifications allowed)
Background & Health Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- E-Verify, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, updated annually (facility may provide onsite fit testing if needed)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (titers or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (titer or vaccines)
- Drug screening: 10-panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 13 - Apr 30)
- COVID vaccine or declination required
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of Care Learning modules prior to start (account created after compliance)
- Completion of orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Compliance with dress code (wine and/or burgundy scrubs)
- Badge photo submission prior to clearance
- Parking information provided for review
- Completion of background drug screen consent form, non-disclosure agreement, and parking pass forms prior to start
Additional Notes
- ReadySet (RS) surveys and Cerner Learning Training modules may be required for some facilities but are not applicable for this location.
- Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.
- All documentation must be current and compliant before the start date.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a critical care environment with a supportive team and requires a dedicated ICU RN with solid clinical skills and certifications.
