Job Summary: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Towson, Maryland
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
On-call: Yes, required (up to 10 weekdays and 3 weekends per contract)
Weekends & Holidays: Required as scheduled
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
- Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year required
- Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience not required
- Preferred: Scrub experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications Required
- Maryland RN State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: 2 Cath Labs, 1 Hybrid OR
- Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
Procedures & Equipment
- Procedures: IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, Structural, PFO, TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman
- Equipment/Documentation: GE Innova IGS, Phillips, GE MacLab, EPIC, IVUS, FFR
Work Requirements
- On-call coverage: Weekdays (Mon-Thurs, 5 PM - 6 AM) and Weekends (Fri 5 PM - Mon 6 AM)
- Weekends and holidays coverage as scheduled and needed on the unit
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- SSN Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, OFAC checks
- Education verification
- Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
- Employment verification: 7 years preferred (5 years acceptable with attestation)
- Two supervisory references within 1 year (1 supervisor/manager + 1 charge RN acceptable)
- Agency application/resume completed within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray updated annually
- Fit mask test (N95) within 1 year of start
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine as applicable
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine not required but exemptions accepted if requested
- Drug testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Immunizations: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted except series)
Competency Exams (as applicable)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Color Blind testing
- Age-specific competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
Facility Specific Documents
- IT confidentiality agreement (signed within 24 hours of receipt)
- Passport-style photo for badge
- Medical flu declination form if applicable
- Respiratory protection questionnaire (must be signed by medical professional)
- Job description acknowledgment (RN)
- Badge application (within 72 hours of signing contract)
- Confidentiality agreement signed prior to start
- Dress code reviewed prior to start
- Latex allergy questionnaire completed
Summary
This is a travel/contract Cath Lab RN position in Maryland requiring at least 1 year of Cath Lab nursing experience. The role involves day shifts with on-call responsibilities, weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled. Candidates must hold a Maryland RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications. First-time travelers are welcome. Extensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams are required prior to start.
