Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Specialty & Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
  • Neuro experience required (Neuro, trauma, ortho, and robotics experience required)
  • First-time travelers NOT accepted (prior travel experience required)

Schedule & Call Requirements

  • Shift Options:
    • 4 shifts of 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) OR
    • 3 shifts of 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30)
  • No guaranteed block scheduling
  • Call:
    • 1-2 calls per week (Monday - Thursday)
    • Call starts after shift until 07:00 the next morning
    • 30-minute callback response required
  • Weekend Call:
    • 2 weekend call shifts every 6 weeks (call starts end of shift Friday until 07:00 Monday)
    • No scheduled weekend shifts, call only
  • Holidays: Call only, as needed by department

Certifications & Skills

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • EPIC experience required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications may be required as applicable
  • Competency exams including Medication Test/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG (pass/fail) required as applicable

  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
  • May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Floating: Not applicable
  • Blocked scheduling: Not approved

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
    • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start (can start with results pending if on file within 45 days)
    • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start (must be finalized prior to start)
    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years of start (can start with results pending if on file within 45 days)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 90 days of start
    • Immunizations/vaccinations required:
      • TDAP (within 10 years)
      • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 doses vaccine or positive titer)
      • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
      • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
      • Flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
      • COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
    • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
    • Respiratory Safety Clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
  • Documentation:
    • I9 or attestation
    • Government-issued photo ID
    • Education verification (highest level)
    • State license verification (primary source)
    • NURSYS verification for RN license
    • Photo for badge (passport-style, professional)
    • Various facility-specific agreements and acknowledgments (Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Health & Wellness, Non-Employee Affidavit, etc.)
  • References: 2 professional references within 3 years
  • Skills checklist and performance evaluations as required

Additional Notes

  • Manager interview required after clinical pre-screen
  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
  • Candidate must notify if unable to comply with tobacco/fragrance-free policy

This position is ideal for experienced neuro RNs with prior travel contract experience looking for a 13-week assignment in Pennsylvania with a demanding but structured call schedule and comprehensive compliance requirements.
