Job Opportunity: Surgical Technician (5N Surg Tech; Ortho/Neuro/Spine/Davinci)

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Strong experience in:

  • Orthopedics (total knee/hips)
  • Neurosurgery
  • Trauma
  • Robotics (bonus, not required)

Job Details

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center with 24/7 poly trauma response
• Service lines include:

  • Orthopedics: major ortho, joints, spines, sports medicine, trauma
  • Neurosurgery: cranies and spines
  • Xi Robotics: surgical oncology, urology, gynecology (staff trained, robotics experience a plus)
  • Bariatric program
  • ENT: head & neck free flaps, reconstruction, basic ENT cases
  • Ophthalmology: retina, cataracts, oculoplastics
• Note: Adult Heart and Kidney Transplant teams are separate and not included
• Average caseload: 80-120 cases per day
• Scrubs provided for OR
• 33 total OR suites (23 on 5 North & 10 on 2 West)
• Outpatient cases primarily done on 2 West (ambulatory experience preferred for this area)

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Rotating day/afternoon shifts
• Shift pattern: 2 eight-hour shifts / 2 twelve-hour shifts
• 8-12 hours of weekly on-call, with 30-minute response time
• Occasional weekends and holidays required

Additional Requirements

• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
• Previous permanent candidates must have been gone for 2 years before reapplying
• Previous travelers must have been gone for 2 years after completing 1 full year at this facility
• Travel teams must be submitted together
