Travel RN Opportunity - New Mexico (Alamogordo)
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Perinatal/OB Nursing
- Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
- Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
- Shift: Nights, 7 PM - 7 AM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The competent RN practices independently in a similar clinical setting, providing routine and complex care. The nurse demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care, manages contingencies, and delegates appropriately to other care providers. The role involves long-range planning and meeting organizational competencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Meet organizational leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
- Current RN license in New Mexico or compact license
- Current BLS certification (AHA only)
- Current NRP certification
- Current ACLS certification (AHA only)
- Certification in one of the following fetal monitoring courses: AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- STABLE certification (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) from Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor course
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty (Perinatal nursing preferred)
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent practice in a Perinatal setting preferred
Additional Position Requirements
- New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
- New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must complete organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations.
- Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
