Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Department (ER)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Assignment Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
  • Unit: Emergency Department
  • Patient Ratios: 4:1 (6:1 for low acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients)
  • Typical Procedures: Splinting, Breathing Treatments, typical ED RN duties
  • Equipment Used: Lucas device, Level 1, Alaris IV pumps, i-STAT, EPOC, GE monitors
  • EMR System: EPIC

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 20 headwall, 4 halls
  • Number of Staff: 50
  • Staff Composition (Night Shift): 1 Charge RN, 4 RNs, 1 Tech, 1 US
  • Shift Variability: Shifts vary across day and night, but this role is for the night shift
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs, appropriate fit (not tight or revealing)
  • Weekend Work: Rotating weekends required

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure: Must have Alaska RN license at time of submission
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department nursing (highest required)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Prior Emergency Department experience is required
  • Stroke and STEMI experience preferred
  • Trauma and Pediatrics experience are a plus
  • Best fit candidates are flexible, transparent, positive, outgoing, efficient, and team players
