Travel RN Opportunity - Las Vegas, Nevada

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Unit: IMC/PCU (Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit)
  • Location: Las Vegas, NV
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 48
  • Patient Ratios: 3 to 4 patients per nurse
  • Staffing: Primary nursing model (no HUCs or PCTs)
  • Equipment:
    • In-room built-in vital signs monitoring
    • Centralized telemetry monitoring
    • Ventilators, BiPAP
    • Hoyer lifts, Cardiac chairs, Sara Steady
    • Doppler, bladder scanner, ultrasound-guided IV machine
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: 3 shifts per week, every other weekend commitment
  • Floating Policy: Travelers are first to float per collective bargaining agreement (CBA)
  • Patient Experience: Bedside shift reporting and AIDET communication framework required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in PCU/IMC nursing
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • NIH Certification
  • Licenses: Registered Nurse License
  • Clinical Skills:
    • Experience managing drips and ventilators
    • Procedures performed on unit include chest tube care, central line management, minor urologic procedures, and emergency intubation

  • Dress Code: Royal blue uniform; no artificial nail polish allowed
