Description
Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Nashville, Tennessee
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 5 (Non-negotiable)
Shift Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
Location: Floating between units/facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity. Notification will be given before scheduled shifts if floating is required.
Required Credentials & Certifications
Licenses & Verification (Required for Submission)
- Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
- Driver's License or State ID (must not be expired, must match address on file, front and back copies required).
- Professional resume/profile.
- Two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
Certifications (Required for Onboarding)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NIH Certification (Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F every 2 years)
Health & Immunizations (Required for Onboarding)
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA: Recent testing required with annual TB questionnaire.
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
Testing & Competencies (Required for Onboarding)
- Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score, two attempts allowed.
- Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed; must be updated to latest version prior to clearance.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Cerner test results and training checklist with signed attestation.
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually for specialty.
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start; updated annually; includes 12 specified drugs.
- Ascension Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
- Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Run within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
Onboarding Requirements
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite).
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training).
- Ascension Nova StatStrip Pre-Hire Modules (required for non-allied positions).
- Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions.
- Ascension Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
Additional Notes
- Floating assignments may occur within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs.
- All required documents and verifications must be completed and uploaded as specified.
- Some optional documents/checklists may be requested by unit leaders but are not mandatory for onboarding.
This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs who are flexible with floating assignments and meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
