Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery with Mother/Baby Experience)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Unit: Labor & Delivery with Mother/Baby experience
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, weekday nights (7 PM - 7 AM) with every other weekend (EOW)
  • Option to flex to a 4th shift if needed/available
  • Overtime available after 48 hours
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
  • Prior travel experience is preferred (not required)

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) via AHA
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - Advanced NRP through AAP required; Essentials not accepted

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or Attestation
  • Government issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service)
  • Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
  • Residency Declaration Form (if working on a compact license)
  • Background Check:
    • 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Must include education verification of highest degree/diploma
    • No pending charges allowed
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Education Verification of highest degree/diploma (official transcript or diploma if needed)
  • NURSYS verification for all RNs within 30 days of start
  • Facility-specific compliance checklist and job description required
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Required vaccinations or titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella) with acceptable declinations or pending series allowed under specific conditions
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required October 1 - April 1, with exemption options
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • Candidates must bring hard copies of all health documents on their first day
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable, with passing scores
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification preferred for ER; may be completed onsite if extending contract
