Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Location: Webster, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Department: Respiratory Therapy (RT)
  • Number of Beds: RT Dept
  • Staff: 42 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs), 24 PRNs
  • Shifts:
    • Day Shift: 1 Director, 1 Manager, 3 Supervisors, 1 Lead
    • Night Shift: 1 Supervisor, 2 Leads, 2 Backup Leads
  • Patient Ratios: Staffed by Units of Service (UOS), 45 UOS/RT
  • Equipment Used: Ventilators, Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), treatments
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in use

Required Skills and Experience

  • Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Licenses: Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification
  • Must Have: Adult Critical Care experience
  • Preferred: NICU experience for PM shift candidates

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Ventilator care
  • Management of tracheostomy patients
  • Patient transports

Work Schedule and Environment

  • Shifts: 3 shifts per week
  • Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts per month (Saturday & Sunday for AM shifts; Friday, Saturday, Sunday for PM shifts)
  • Dress Code: Pewter Gray scrubs
  • Team Culture: Emphasis on teamwork mentality

  • Floating to other areas is not applicable for this role
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
