Diagnostic Imaging Sonographer - Contract Opportunity

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide ultrasound services efficiently and timely to patients in various settings. Responsibilities include:

  • Verifying patient and procedural information
  • Preparing patients for exams and educating patients and family members
  • Performing ultrasound exams and producing diagnostic images
  • Communicating and transmitting reports to physicians
  • Organizing data for radiologists
  • Stocking, preparing, and cleaning exam rooms
  • Transporting patients as needed
  • Maintaining clinical competencies through ongoing education and orientation

Key Responsibilities

  • Review computer-generated information to ensure image quality for diagnostic interpretation
  • Use safety measures and protection devices to comply with regulations and ensure safety of patients and staff
  • Explain procedures and monitor patients for safety and comfort during scans
  • Operate or oversee ultrasound imaging equipment
  • Position and immobilize patients on the exam table
  • Monitor patient conditions and report abnormalities to physicians
  • Set up examination rooms with necessary equipment

Requirements

Licensure/Certification

  • Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification

Education

  • Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee of Radiologic Technology or Sonography program (JRCRTE)
  • Must pass ARDMS or ARRT registry within three years post-graduation or cross-training
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in ultrasound

Additional Requirements

  • No disciplinary actions on record
  • Prior travel experience is not required
