Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech (OR Tech)

Location: Dickinson, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Department: Operating Room (Tech)
• Shifts:

  • 9-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday
  • Shift times: 07:00–16:30 or 06:00–15:30
  • Team/self scheduling available
• Call Requirements:

  • 1-2 call shifts per week (end of shift until 07:00 next day)
  • 1 weekend call per month (Friday 07:00 to Monday 07:00)
  • On-call for holidays
• Orientation: 1-2 unit/department specific shifts
• Floating: Typically not required unless prior training in other areas

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS Certification required
  • ND UAP required
  • CST or NCCT preferred
• Experience:

  • Familiarity with total joint replacements and cesarean sections required
  • Experience with MAKO robot is a plus
• Specialty Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum experience to be familiar with listed procedures
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified as required
• Additional Notes:

  • ND does not recognize military education as meeting state requirements
  • No clinical involvement required

• Operating Room Details:

  • 6 OR suites and 1 GI suite
  • Common cases include adult, pediatric, geriatric, obstetric surgeries, ortho (total joints, ORIF, arthroscopy), OB/GYN (cesarean section, LAVH, D&C, diagnostic laparoscopy), general surgery (lap appendectomy, lap cholecystectomy, exploratory laparoscopy)
  • Equipment includes C-arm, MAKO robot, Ligasure, harmonic scalpel

Additional Information

• No manager or charge nurse on each shift
• Scrub color and dress code provided
• Radius rule: must live within 50 miles and cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
• Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approved

This position is suitable for Surgical Techs experienced in orthopedic and obstetric procedures, comfortable with advanced OR technology, and able to meet specific certification and fit testing requirements.
