Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med Surg, Overflow Unit, Post Surg, Observation)
• Start Dates: February 9 and February 23
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years recent Med Surg experience (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (minimum 1 year travel experience required)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6/7
• Team Nursing Model: Transitioning to team nursing; LPNs being hired to assist
• First-timers: Not accepted (travel experience required)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (no weekend block schedule, but weekend block may be considered)
• Locals: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission

Certifications & Licenses Required

• Current RN License (TN or Multistate)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required for Med Surg/Tele units
• NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all RNs except at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Check within 60 days of start (statewide, county, federal, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Education Verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
• Sex Offender Search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry Search (TN only)
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit Mask Test: 3M N-95 mask fit test within 1 year, must pass without limitations
• Immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (3 shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• TB Testing: True 2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray if positive

Facility Specifics

• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
• Photo Badge: Recent photo required with strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters)
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills Checklist and Competency Exams must be current and updated annually
• Internal Evaluation required if employed with agency for 1 year or more

Additional Notes

• Candidates must submit to only one job ID at a time per facility policy
• All documentation must be complete and compliant prior to start date
• No locals accepted due to 100-mile radius rule
• Weekend block scheduling not generally accommodated but may be considered
