Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room

Location: Mt. Pleasant, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
  • Identify patient needs and priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Safely, rapidly, and accurately triage every patient entering the emergency care system.
  • Coordinate care with other professional disciplines as needed.
  • Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia test during the first week of assignment to continue working in the Emergency Department.

Required Certifications & Credentials

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (American Heart Association or Apex Innovations only)
  • License/Certificate Verification (Primary source verification within 30 days of start)
  • GRH Drug Screen (10 Panel, excludes THC)
  • GRH Skills Checklist (completed within 12 months)
  • GRH CPI/MOAB (Crisis Prevention Intervention/Management of Aggressive Behavior)
  • BD Screening Attestation
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
  • Fit Test (acceptable respirators required prior to start)
  • Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
  • TB Test (negative test within past year or appropriate documentation if history of positive test)
  • Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
  • Driver's License/State ID (unexpired government-issued)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted)
  • Tdap (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted)
  • GRH Background Check (includes SS Trace, County, Nationwide, Sex Offender searches)
  • GRH Iowa Adult and Child Abuse Check
  • GRH Education Verification (verified through 3rd party)
  • GRH EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG Check
  • GRH References (2 professional references, 1 must be supervisor)
