Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Technician

Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to visualize anatomical or physiological structures for diagnostic purposes.
• Produce quality images as directed by radiologists and physicians for diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders.
• Perform General Abdominal Sonography, Vascular Sonography (including doppler, ABIs, and Segmental Pressure exams), OB/GYN Sonography, and Small Parts Sonography on all populations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of general and cross-sectional anatomy, technical factors, and basic computer skills including PACS.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment across the department and hospital.
• Provide exceptional care and customer satisfaction.
• Schedule: Day shift with one night call per week and every 5th weekend call.

Required Certifications and Credentials

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC acceptable)
• Professional license verification as required for the position

• 10 Panel Drug Screen (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, methamphetamine, opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine, propoxyphene) within 30 days of start (THC not required)
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months
• COVID-19 vaccine (declination accepted)
• MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
• Fit test for approved respirators completed prior to start
• Hepatitis B vaccination or declination accepted
• TB test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
• Health statement from physician within last 12 months
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer (booster or declination accepted)
• Tdap vaccination valid for 10 years (declinations accepted)
• Background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check within 30 days of start
• Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Professional references (2 required, 1 must be from supervisor)
• Resume or profile submission
• I-9 attestation (agency letterhead)
• Color vision verification
• Contract employee data sheet
• National Sex Offender (NSO) check within 30 days of start
• OFAC check within 30 days of start
• Evergreen Link attestation for system access within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• OSHA questionnaire completion
• Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement
• Annual influenza vaccine or facility declination accepted (due by December 1 annually)
