Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) acceptable (RRT preferred)

Experience Requirements

• Adult critical care experience with confidence in this area
• Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1+ year in adult critical care based on job duties and expectations
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Patient Population

• Adults primarily, with some pediatric and infant patients in the ER setting

Work Areas

• Emergency Room (ER)
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
• Hospital wards
• No outpatient services

Job Duties

• Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
• Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Ventilator management (Avea, LTV, Zoll vents)
• BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow oxygen therapy (V60, V30, SiPAP, Vapotherm, Optiflow)
• General respiratory therapy tasks
• Assist with intubation (not independently perform)

Scheduling & Work Environment

• 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM to 6:30 PM)
• Includes weekends and holidays
• No solo shifts; always working with a team
• Floating between two campuses may be required (West Campus: adults; East Campus: all ages)
• Weekend and holiday work required
• No call or standby call required

Orientation & Training

• 1 day Neonatal Orientation
• 3 days department-specific orientation

Additional Information

• Dress code: Black scrubs, no logos
• Hospitalist or intensivist coverage available in-house
• Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist not required on shift

This position is ideal for respiratory therapists with solid adult critical care experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment with a variety of patient acuity levels.
