Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN Days)

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (expires annually)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Required Verifications and Competencies

  • Primary source online State License verification
  • NURSYS Verification for RN
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online version accepted)
  • Competency Exams (minimum 80% or meet Angoff score)
  • Unit Specific Skills Checklist (annual)

Background and Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year Background Check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
  • HHS/OIG check upon hire
  • Education Verification (highest level) required
  • Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)
  • Complete Application/Resume required
  • 7-year Work History Verification required

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
  • Adult TDAP Vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year of start
  • TB Questionnaire (if positive TB test) within 90 days of start, annual renewal
  • Measles (Rubeola) immunity: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
  • Mumps immunity: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
  • Rubella immunity: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if negative/equivocal)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Requirements

  • Clear headshot photo for badge
  • I9 form required for direct candidates; attestation for subcontractors
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA compliance)
  • Flu exemption forms required if applicable (medical or religious)

Notes

  • Fingerprints must be redone for every new contract
  • Fingerprinting clearance required before working on unit (1-3 business days processing)
  • Travelers may attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance
  • Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for restraint/seclusion assessment prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses who are comfortable with call responsibilities and have prior travel experience or are open to travel assignments.
