Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years (Neuro experience required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required
• Shift: 36 or 48 hours shifts; schedule may change during interview
• Nursing Ratio: 1:6/7 (team nursing)
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed; weekend block may be considered but no open block scheduling
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• License: Must be compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines; pending licenses not accepted
• Special Requirements:

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Large hospital experience required

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except at Children’s Hospital)

Required Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check within 60 days of start (statewide, county, federal, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
• Sex offender search
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN facilities only)

Required Health Documents & Immunizations

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or declination)
• Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable
• Facility-specific dress code and badge photo guidelines apply
