Job Overview

Seeking RNs for the outpatient Phase 2 Cardiac Rehab program. This program involves cardiac patient therapy where patients with cardiac diagnoses participate in monitored exercise sessions, receive education, have EKG and vital signs monitored, care plans developed, and wellness goals set.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide cardiac rehab therapy and education to outpatient Phase 2 patients
• Monitor EKG rhythms and vital signs during exercise sessions
• Assist patients on exercise equipment
• Develop and document care plans
• Collaborate with medical director and other healthcare providers
• Make follow-up calls to patients and ordering providers
• Support inpatient cardiac rehab orders that transition patients to outpatient Phase 2 therapy

Schedule

• Preferred schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Some flexibility for 8-hour shifts if needed
• Outpatient gym open 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM on full gym days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
• Phase 2 patients attend 3 times per week for 12 weeks

• Inpatient and outpatient cardiac rehab programs closely linked for continuity of care
• Outpatient gym requires at least 2 qualified staff on full gym days, including 1 RN

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
