Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, 07:00-19:00, weekdays, every other weekend
• Float Requirements: May float to ER and ICU as needed
• Unit Description:

  • 70-bed rural facility
  • Acute care/telemetry focus with occasional pediatric/adolescent patients
  • Night shift staffed with LPNs alongside RNs
  • RN to patient ratio approximately 1:5
  • House Supervisor available 24/7 for support

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in specialty (acute care/telemetry)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• Certifications Required:

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Certifications Preferred:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Skills Required:

  • Telemetry
• Skills Preferred:

  • Pediatrics
  • Charge nurse experience

Work Environment & Systems

• EMR System: Cerner
• Scrubs: Not provided; color required is Burgundy
• Schedule: Blocked schedule requests must be made upfront and will be discussed during interview

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Candidates must provide the following prior to start:

• RN License verification
• Minimum 2 clinical or charge nurse references within the past 2 years
• Specialty-specific skills checklist
• Proof of required certifications (BCLS, ACLS, PALS if applicable)
• COVID vaccine or declination documentation
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility standards
• Immunization records or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start and annually updated
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history and federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during work hours)
• Completion of facility-specific learning modules and competency exams as required

Additional Notes

• Candidates may be required to complete facility-specific forms such as confidentiality agreements, parking pass applications, and background drug screen consent forms.
• ReadySet health assessment surveys and Cerner training modules must be completed prior to orientation.
• Candidates should be prepared to float to other units including ICU and ER as needed.
• House Supervisor support is available 24/7.
