Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Specialty: Registered Nurse – ED Holding/CICU (Emergency Department inpatient/CICU level holds)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Contracted to the ED unit, specifically caring for inpatient/CICU level holds in the ED
- Must have 2 years of nursing experience, with a strong Progressive Care Unit (PCU) background within the last year
- Emergency Department (ED) experience preferred but not required
- First-time travelers accepted only if they have EPIC experience and 2 years of experience (no first timers with only 1 year experience)
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
- Required certifications on arrival: ACLS, BCLS, EKG test
Patient Diagnoses
- Chest Pain
- Syncope
- Heart Failure
- Sepsis
- Overdose
- GI Bleed
- COPD
- Pneumonia
- Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Oncology, Orthopedic overflow
- Post-catheterization with stent (no CABG)
- ICD/Pacer insertions
- Cardioversions
Special Procedures / Unit Details
- Management and titration of drips (Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine) required

- Phillips Monitoring System
Required Certifications
- ACLS (AHA Provider only)
- BLS (AHA Provider only)
- EKG competency test on arrival
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (OSHA education)
- State License (copy and verification required)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – online accepted
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Basic Dysrhythmia HealthStream Exam onsite with 80% passing score required for critical care units
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with strong PCU background within the last year
- ED experience preferred but not mandatory
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required

- Background check must be completed within 30 days of start date
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot)
- TB Questionnaire required for all travelers
- Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella (history of disease NOT accepted)
- 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (7-day grace period allowed)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during October 31 – April 1 period (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- RespSafety clearance questionnaire required prior to start
Additional Requirements
- Two current professional references within the last 3 years (one must be from a supervisor or charge RN)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Internal evaluation required annually for travelers with Aya or agency for 1+ year
- Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, insurance proof (if applicable), and compliance attestations
