Job Opportunity: RN - Telemetry (Travel)

Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH)

Job Description

• Provide patient care on a PCU/Telemetry unit using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Utilize critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to plan and deliver safe care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

• Number of Beds: 30
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Scope of Role:

  • Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
  • IV insertion
  • Lab draws
  • Medication administration and management of cardiac medications
  • Foley catheter insertion
  • Vital signs monitoring
  • Assessment documentation
  • Point-of-care testing (blood glucose)
• EMR System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy blue
• Floating: Will follow floating requirements as needed

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry
• Minimum Experience: 2 years (1-2+ years required, defaulted to higher value)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Information

• 48-hour shift guarantees are NOT available
• Blocked scheduling may be requested

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts and flexible floating assignments.
