Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6:30pm - 7:00am)
Call & Floating: Floating and call required (call at least 2 hours prior to shift start)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care to Emergency Room patients using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe patient care delivery.
- Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
- Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
- Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively.
- Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
- Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
- Apply knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department
- Minimum 2+ years of RN experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
- Certifications preferred: ENPC, NRP
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Fingerprints required for all New Mexico travelers
Additional Information
- Emergency Department is Level 3 Trauma
- Patient ratio: 4:1
- Blocked scheduling and 48-hour guarantees are NOT approved
- Return to Office (RTO) blackout dates or required holidays: 1 Summer & 1 Winter (dependent on department needs)
- Maximum RTO: 1 per schedule; 6-week scheduling cycle
- Scrub color: None specified, full uniform required
- EMR system: MedHost (EDIS)
