Job Opportunity: Orthopedic Technologist

Job Description

• Assist orthopedic physician/PA with patient care including casting, splinting, and care of casts, splints, and external fixators
• Support patient intake, rooming, charting, and documentation
• Operate according to clinic policies and procedures, demonstrating competency and knowledge of the clinic environment
• Assist physician during procedures by anticipating needs and preparing supplies
• Maintain orderly and stocked treatment and exam rooms
• Apply orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces) to patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics
• Perform removal of sutures or staples, change dressings, and schedule tests
• Obtain patient history and prepare physician as requested
• Log nurse notes and medication refills in patient charts
• Assist with managing patient flow and room turnover
• Collect documentation for surgery, orders, consents, and prepare surgery charts
• Process Durable Medical Equipment (DME) applications when needed
• Maintain compliance with Code of Conduct and report any concerns or violations
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with new techniques and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned
