Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 26 weeks (interpreted from 26)
• Shift:

  • Day Shift: 07:30 to 16:00
  • Late Shift: 08:30 to 17:00 (to complete cases)
• Floating: Potential floating to Cedar Crest
• Weekend Requirement: Cover call vacancy if needed

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab
• Experience with CCL diagnostic/interventional procedures and peripheral diagnostic/interventional procedures
• Cardiac Cath tech to perform all procedures
• EP (Electrophysiology) experience is a plus
• Must be proficient with Epic charting system

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)

Additional Requirements

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Scrubs are provided

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background checks covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results required within 90 days of start
• Education verification for highest level of education relative to specialty
• State-specific searches including Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search, PATCH Search, Medicheck Search
• Drug testing: Negative 10 Panel or 9 Panel (without THC/Marijuana) within 60 days of start
• Physical exam within 2 months of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual updates not required)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series)
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required for new candidates starting October through May (declination allowed only under specific conditions)
• Respirator medical clearance required annually for candidates starting 04/07/2025 and beyond

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (passing score 88%) for applicable clinical staff
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for RNs & LVNs except certain specialties
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and other facility-specific acknowledgments

Documentation & History

• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
• Complete employment application with 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Work history verification for non-clinical candidates
• Photo for badge (for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 and later)
• Facility-specific documents including affidavit for provisional employment, COVID and flu declinations if applicable

This position requires a qualified Cath Lab Tech with solid experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, appropriate certifications, and compliance with extensive background and health documentation requirements. The role involves day and late shifts with potential weekend call coverage and some floating responsibilities.
