Job Opportunity: Medical Nursing RN

Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process within established standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients.
• Cardiac monitoring and intervention.
• Sedation and pain management.
• Chest tube care and insertion.
• Medication administration.
• Pre and post cardiac catheterization care.
• Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) / Peripheral Parenteral Nutrition (PPN).
• Access and care of central lines.
• Specialized IV drips and titration, IV therapy, IV additives (IVADD).
• Transfusion therapy.
• Waived testing.
• Information management and documentation.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and re-assessments per policy.
• Provide individualized, age-specific care supporting hemostatic regulation, hemodynamic monitoring, and physiologic functioning.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, and responses.
• Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, maintaining confidentiality.
• Address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs; act as patient advocate.
• Collaborate with patients and families to develop and update individualized care plans daily.
• Formulate and evaluate teaching plans for patients and families.
• Supervise and allocate work to other healthcare staff.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Respond promptly to workload changes to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Participate in performance improvement activities.
• Serve as a preceptor to orient new employees.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and education.
• Maintain and operate patient care equipment; ensure supply stock and cost containment.
• Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stress.
• Meet all department-specific competencies.
• Perform housekeeping and assist with patient transportation as needed.
• Adhere to dress code, infection control, safety, and personnel policies.
• Serve as team leader and role model for staff.
