Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Step Down (Float Pool)
Location: Vineland, New Jersey
Contract Length: 8 weeks (with likely extension)
Schedule: 48 hours per week, 4 twelve-hour shifts
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday: 1 holiday per contract if needed
Return to Office (RTO): No more than 3 days
Position Overview
- Float nurse position supporting ED Holds.
- Must have Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience to care for Step Down and Acute Care holds.
- Emergency Department (ED) experience is a plus but inpatient experience is required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Nursing license: New Jersey or compact license accepted.
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – AHA only
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Float Pool nursing with PCU and inpatient experience.
- Years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have solid inpatient experience (implies at least 1+ year).

Orientation & Onboarding
- Full orientation completion is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination.
- Orientation includes virtual and in-person components:

- In-person classes typically Tuesday through Thursday at multiple locations.
- POCT class attendance required (not during orientation week).
- Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager.
- Badge ID appointment required during orientation (photo submissions not accepted). Badge needed for clock-ins.
Charting System
- Cerner electronic health record system.
Additional Requirements
- Compliance with background checks, drug screening, immunizations (COVID-19, Influenza, Hep B, MMR, TdaP, Varicella), and other standard healthcare employment verifications and screenings.
This role is ideal for a nurse with strong inpatient and PCU experience looking for a short-term float pool assignment supporting step-down and acute care patients.
