Description
Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Temp)
Location: Dallas, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform quality control, troubleshooting, and maintenance on nuclear medicine equipment and devices. Collaborate with physicians to determine appropriate procedures and ensure compliance with quality management programs. Document laboratory operations, including radioactive materials handling, quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records. Provide clinical instruction to radiology students and residents. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nuclear medicine advancements and regulatory requirements. Foster positive working relationships with healthcare team members to ensure efficient information flow and interdepartmental cooperation.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 24 months (2 years) of current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
- Certification:
- Active permanent or temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from Texas Medical Board
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT within 6 months of hire
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Thorough working knowledge of nuclear medicine technology, including related chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biomedical sciences
- Ability to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start IV lines
- Proficient in operating Gamma cameras, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners, nuclear medicine computers, and Cardiac Stress equipment
- Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments
- Basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies
- Certifications:
- Active American Heart Association ACLS
- Active American Heart Association BLS
- Additional:
- Must disclose any previous employment history with the facility
- Resume and skills checklist specific to the discipline required
- Two supervisory references from within the last year
- Proof of taxable address
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Work week: Wednesday through Tuesday
- Overtime and holiday pay at 1.5x
- Callback pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours
- No unbillable orientation hours
- On-call availability required
- Cancellation policy allows up to 3 shift cancellations per 13 weeks
- Local candidates within 60 miles accepted
