Job Description
- Work in Main OR covering general surgery, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, vascular, plastics, gynecology, urology, robotics
- Strong neuro experience is a must
- Position: OR Tech / Surgical Tech
- Shift details to be discussed during interview
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
- Weekend and on-call requirements to be discussed during interview
- Locals accepted at same rate
- No pending licenses accepted
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
- Smoke-free facility: all travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel + nicotine test required)
- Time-sensitive online modules must be prioritized and completed before start
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 18 months experience required
- 2 years experience preferred
- Must have strong neuro experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications & Licenses
- National certification (NBSTSA/NCCT) preferred
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS not required for OR
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemo, EFM) but not specifically for this role
- State license verification required within 30 days of start
- National tech certification verification required within 30 days of start
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Drug testing: Negative 10 panel drug screen plus nicotine test within 1 year of start (no medical marijuana accepted)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- COVID vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
Onboarding & Training
- Completion of online training modules via facility system (SilkRoad) is mandatory before start
- Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
- Candidates must watch training videos fully before taking tests
- Pass/fail testing (EKG/Medication) applies only to RNs/LPNs, not OR Techs
Additional Requirements
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application
- Facility uses EPIC for charting

- Facility is a teaching hospital with 332 staffed beds
