Travel Nursing Opportunity - Psychiatric / Addiction RN

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel (Temp to Perm Preferred)
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking experienced Psychiatric / Addiction Registered Nurses to support an adult acute psychiatric unit. The unit currently accepts up to 16 patients, with plans to expand to 24-30 patients. Nurses will provide routine and complex care independently, manage clinical situations, and contribute to the growth of the unit.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments following protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.
Demonstrate leadership competencies (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders).

Requirements

Education & Licenses

Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
RN License in New Mexico or compact license
BLS certification (AHA only) required

Experience

Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric or addiction nursing specialty preferred
