Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
- Required Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for specialty
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA only; AHA RQI acceptable)

- Solid black scrubs required

- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually
- Passing scores required on EKG and Telemetry exams
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics within 90 days of start and updated annually
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit test for approved N95 masks within one year of start, updated annually
- Pre-employment physical within one year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
- Immunizations and health screenings required prior to start:
- COVID-19 vaccine (fully vaccinated; exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
- MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B (titer or proof of complete series; signed declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions with approval)
- Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted
- Annual TB questionnaire and chest X-ray if positive PPD
Background and Compliance
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Comprehensive background checks including:
- 7-year FCRA-compliant criminal background check
- OIG exclusion search within 90 days of start
- EPLS (SAM) search within 90 days of start
- Third-party education verification required
- Social Security Card or SCC required
