Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
• Required Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for specialty
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only; AHA RQI acceptable)
  • ACLS (AHA only; AHA RQI acceptable)

  • Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
  • State-specific license/certificate verification required
• Additional Requirements:

  • Float required
  • Solid black scrubs required
  • Return to Office (RTO) requests limited to a maximum of 7 days; block scheduling not allowed
  • Must provide and carry a valid government-issued photo ID
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually
  • Passing scores required on EKG and Telemetry exams
  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics within 90 days of start and updated annually

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit test for approved N95 masks within one year of start, updated annually
• Pre-employment physical within one year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Immunizations and health screenings required prior to start:

  • COVID-19 vaccine (fully vaccinated; exemptions reviewed case-by-case)
  • MMR (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B (titer or proof of complete series; signed declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine (required October-April; medical/religious exemptions with approval)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 adult vaccines; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with specific timing requirements; no declinations accepted
  • Annual TB questionnaire and chest X-ray if positive PPD

Background and Compliance

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Comprehensive background checks including:

  • 7-year FCRA-compliant criminal background check
  • OIG exclusion search within 90 days of start
  • EPLS (SAM) search within 90 days of start
• Third-party education verification required
• Social Security Card or SCC required

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have an accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE to be considered
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• No block scheduling allowed; RTO limited to 7 days maximum
• All required documentation and exams must be current and submitted as specified
