Location: Dickinson, North Dakota

Job Details

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

• Trauma Level & Designations:

  • Critical Access Hospital
  • Level 4 Trauma Certification (State of North Dakota)
  • ASRH designation by State of North Dakota

• Facility Info:

  • 14 regular beds, 2 large trauma bays
  • Nurse to patient ratio: 1:3-5 depending on assignment
  • Patient population: Pediatrics through geriatrics, typical emergency department presentations

• Shift Information:

  • Shifts: 7a-7p, 10a-10p, 7p-7a
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling available; manager typically schedules travelers
  • Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
  • Floating: Not typical, but may assist on Medical-Surgical and ICU units

• Orientation:

  • 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation (12 hours each)

• Additional Notes:

  • Must be motivated, a self-starter, committed to excellence, and focused on patient satisfaction
  • RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry/monitor strips
  • Charge nurse present on each shift and takes assignments
  • Support staff includes 1 CNA functioning as ward clerk and CNA
  • Facial hair policy: Must pass fit testing for respiratory protection; inability to pass due to facial hair may result in contract cancellation

Experience Requirements

• Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum ER RN experience typical for this role (usually 1-2 years)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Additional Requirements

• Radius rule: Candidates must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
• Return to Office (RTO) needed within 7 days of contract start; no extensions approved.
