Job Opportunity: MS/ TELE RN (RN Telemetry II) - Travel Position

Location: Harlan, Kentucky
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Telemetry experience for a travel assignment. The role requires floating to other units if census is low. The schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation over a two-week pay period. Orientation occurs bi-weekly. Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of current Medical-Surgical (MS) and Telemetry nursing experience.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Licenses & Certifications

• Must have a Kentucky or compact nursing license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
• NIH Certification required (except for OR and Psych specialties).

Electronic Medical Record System

• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must provide proof of the following immunizations or titers:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (with religious/medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Influenza Vaccine (seasonal, with accommodation process available)
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
• Fit test for N95 respirators may be required; PAPR devices are not accommodated.
• Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clearance to work without restrictions.
• TB testing: QuantiFERON blood test within one year or positive PPD with negative chest X-ray documentation.

Background & Screening

• Background checks including criminal, employment, education, and other verifications must be current (within 30 days prior to start).
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start.
• Verification on Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry required within 30 days prior to start.

Skills & Competency Assessments

• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams (including EKG and Telemetry exams) must be completed within one year prior to start.
• Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, and advance directives are required annually.

Other Important Notes

• Assignment confirmation form must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
• Floating to other units is required if census is low.
• Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time.
