Job Opportunity: Nuclear Med Tech - Radiology
Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, support other imaging technologists, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. Flexibility is required to work different shifts and/or at other campuses as needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting basic maintenance, participating in quality assurance, resolving image processing and archiving issues, and adhering to radiation safety protocols. Ongoing education, safety, and technical skill development within licensure scope are expected.
Responsibilities
- Perform imaging procedures and assist in patient throughput within licensure and competency scope
- Support radiologists and referring physicians to promote physician satisfaction
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all duties
- Adapt patient care methods to meet individual physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs
- Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and escalate issues appropriately
- Follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and ensure proper image archiving
- Demonstrate flexibility in shift and location assignments
- Promote staff growth, development, and engagement through collaboration
- Uphold organizational core values and competencies
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent
- Nuclear Medicine Technology certification (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required
- State licensure for New Mexico: NMT by MIRTP NMED required
- BLS certification (AHA only) required
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred
- Basic computer skills required
Work Schedule
- Shift varies between 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Full-time position
