Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Float between departments or local locations within 20 miles as required.

Contract Length

• 11 weeks

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of current experience in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.

Required Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

Required Certifications & Licensure

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).

Additional Requirements

• Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite before starting the assignment. One re-test allowed; failure on second attempt results in contract cancellation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (preferred but not required).
