Job Opportunity: RN - Behavioral Health (Travel)

Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

Specialty: Behavioral Health, Mental Health, Psychiatric Nursing
Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Every-other weekend rotation
Call Requirements: None required
Float Requirements: RN may be floated to other departments

Experience & Certifications

Required Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year of inpatient behavioral health experience
Required Certifications:
- RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Handle with Care preferred
- ACLS and PALS required within 60 and 90 days after start, respectively
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) preferred

Unit & Patient Information

Unit: Behavioral Health Unit, 3rd Floor
Number of Beds: 16
Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 4 patients
Patient Population: Adult
Common Diagnoses:
- Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Schizoaffective Disorder
- Personality Disorders
- Dual Diagnosis (primary mental health)
Equipment & Systems:
- Vitals Machine
- EMAR (Electronic Medication Administration Record)
- Omnicell
- EHR: Med Host

Additional Information

Start Time: Candidates must start within 7-10 days after offer
Orientation: Weekly orientations available
Travel Distance: Must be greater than 60 miles from facility to qualify as travel
Dress Code: Scrubs required (non-specific color)
Personality Fit: Adaptable to behavioral health environment and patient needs
